ABOUT US
Proudly supporting the communities we serve.
Throughout the years, Schleicher would go on to own franchises in Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and even Alabama. Though Alabama and Kentucky are no longer on the list of franchises owned, Schleicher has made quite the name for herself within the corporate realm of KFC. She has served on numerous committees throughout the years, and has even received the “Hard Way Award,” which is the highest award given within KFC, and is also known as the Colonel’s Award.
In fact, it is Colonel Sanders himself that has taught Schleicher some of her most valuable lessons. One of the most important was that Sanders truly cared for people. Schleicher tries to do just that in her everyday life, along with demonstrating hospitality, quality, and cleanliness. “They all go hand in hand” says Schleicher.

Alice J. Schleicher Receives KFC Lifetime Achievement Award
We’re proud to share that our founder and matriarch, Alice J. Schleicher, was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from KFC, presented at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.
Alice began her journey in 1977 with the acquisition of her first store and became one of KFC’s first female franchise owners, growing AJS KFC to more than 60 locations. Her tribute at the event celebrated her as a “Powerhouse in the KFC Community” and a “Trailblazer in her own right,” recognizing her decades of leadership, community impact, and service on numerous KFC committees.
As Alice and her family took the stage, the song “Que Sera, Sera” played—a tune she’s sung at meetings for years, perfectly capturing her spirit and outlook.
Congratulations, Alice, on a well-earned honor and a remarkable legacy.
